The easy fix was to use "COMBOFIX" from bleepingcomputer.com and here is the link: bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix Be sure you rename combofix to anything else, or the virus/trojan will block that too! If you have problems un-installing/installing, then use the Norton Removal Tool. I did run SmitFraudFix, and I deleted the av.dat file. I tried to reinstall from ISP CDrom, but this process falls over when it tries to assign an IP address.. He had me search the registry in safe mode.

A lot of people suggested using Malwarebytes, so I downloaded it onto a flash drive and tried installing it at home. One user thinks brastk.exe is dangerous and recommends removing it.
Id must be in my boot sector on my drive. Not just that, it seemssvchost as well as explorer.exe try to create the file if deleted. Delete brastk.exe from WINDOWS and WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 folder. (in safe mode you can do it). I chose that, and sure enough the computer shut down. Any new ways for this solutions welcome. Be sure to check the Registry as well for remnants of brastk.exe. The McAfee program did provide what appeared to be the path/location of the virus.

I ran a HijackThis log and found neither. They never noticed that our AV was shut down (removed even from the toolbar) and will NOT allow it to start when clicking on the program itself.
