On my old one the burnt discs were fine so I feel that rules out the disc quality or the stand alone player being dodgy. My Dvd Player Skips And Freezes

I have been burning the authored discs with TMPGEnc, but do you think I would be ok to author in TMPGEnc, and burn with IMGBURN? I have been burning DVD's for years, and, am not a noob at this. The audio still drops a word every so often (same word/spot every time) I had 2 different ISO files of the movie. You think that "stopping in the middle" and simply allowing the disc to cool is somehow a waste of time, but physically removing the labels isn't?

  • I have updated my burner firmware.
  • What I have done to try to remedy this, is I make sure to shrink the movies so they don't burn all the way to the edge of the DVD.
  • I am using DVD Decrypter, with DVD Shrink & ANYDVD, with disks being TDK DVD+8X.Using Dell Laptop to burn & Windows XP Pro.
  • BUT, I have a problem.
  • When I go to play a DVD in my standalone that I have previously burned, alot of the time towards the end of the movie, I start getting blocking and choppy
  • I copy the complete DVD including menus and languages at 16x encoding/writing speed.
  • Thanks again heymon, Jan 15, 2007 #5 j_doja Member Joined: Jan 14, 2006 Messages: 6 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 11 What no one is mentioning is that many dvd
  • You might want to try buning the poorer quality discs at a lower speed.
  • conmoyJan 2, 2008, 4:31 AM HELP!!My dvd player freezes and skips when i play burnt dvd's.
  • My daughter's computer seemed to have a similar problem until I upped her RAM for 512 to a Gig.

And if it is the standalone, why does it play just fine over halfway through a DVD before skipping. I can't figure that one out. Any suggestions out there to give me a edge on my problem.. Dvd Player Skipping No Scratches almost like when a curse is removed from a movie.

BTW, it plays store bought DVD's with no problem whatsoever. Now what I need to do is find a program which will recondition the orginal burn disk that had the skips and stutters on it so I won't have to go But your best bet is to acquire better media and DO NOT PUT LABELS ON THEM. have a peek at these guys I'm not some noob idiot who is clueless, so a little respect is appreciated.

What did you do tonight? Some DVD players will make it almost tranparent, while others will freeze up as if there is an error/glitch in the disc. Skipping is generally a sign of media issues...burning too fast or too slow, poor support in the firmware of the drive for those particular disks, etc. Proper DVD's, I assume your talking about the ones you purchase, these disc are not burnt.

Roxio, the leader in Digital Media Software I spent my own time to help others. Also, in MSCONFIG/Startup, you can shut down all those Reminders, Schedulers, Updaters and other crapola put there by programs you've installed. i have my port forwarded correctly, i've tried capping speeds, no luck.

If I stop the player and start it again it will continue for a time then sputter and stop. Is the problem with my player or the discs? The disks are the best quality i could buy (Verbatim 16x) and i am using a brand-new-2-day-old-computer to burn them. And yes, stop using paper labels. lol. I appreciate your time. The DVD plays great on my computer, but when I put it in my DVD player (to play on my TV) the audio skips every so often (every 3-5 minutes) not Meaning the CD burner is going bad.
